One thing is for certain, the 2015 IndyCar series schedule will divide opinion. Races have come and some have gone, dates have been mixed up and the compression of the season continues, unabated. Here are some thoughts on the good and the bad of the 2015 calendar. The good Continuous action – with such a long off season, IndyCar needs to be front and centre  in the minds of existing fans and prospective ones. • NASCAR Silly Season for 2015 gets confusing

    ard2012
    26 Nov 2014 | 1:30 pm
So who’s going to be where in 2015? Specifically, where will Cole Whitt and David Ragan be, and who, exactly, will be driving the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in 2015? BK Racing co-owner Anthony Marlowe opened up a can of “silly season” worms, of sorts, Tuesday night by tweeting congratulations to Cole Whitt for joining Front Row Motorsports as driver of the No. 34 Ford for 2015. But, wait just a minute. When asked about Whitt joining FRM, Front Row officials publicly denied that the organization had signed Whitt. Not only did said…

    ard2012
    25 Nov 2014 | 6:41 am
There’s no secret that the master plan for recently crowned NASCAR Nationwide Series champion Chase Elliott puts Elliott, possibly, in a Sprint Cup car for a select few Sprint Cup races in 2015 before a definite full-time move to Cup competition in 2016. Hendrick Motorsports, although already a full-time four-car team, is able to field a part-time entry for Elliott next year, but NASCAR rules bar HMS from fielding a fifth full-time team for Elliott in 2016. The cap is four, and Hendrick is, obviously, already there. So, where will Elliott land in 2016? Prior to last week, speculation…

Jackie Speier, U.S. Representative from California, sent a letter to NASCAR and Stewart-Haas Racing recently, calling for the suspension of Kurt Busch amid a domestic abuse allegation made against him by ex-girlfriend, Patricia Driscoll. I, by no means, want to make light the crime of domestic violence. It’s a serious crime and anyone guilty of said crime should be held accountable and punished for it. The issue I have with Speier’s adamant request for Busch’s suspension is this: the abuse allegation is just that, an allegation. Nothing in that regard has been proven. To my…

Okay, now the first installment of this new-format Chase for the Sprint Cup is in this history books. Did you like it? Hate it? Are you indifferent to it? I admit I was kind of iffy on it when this format was first announced before the start of the 2014 season. I was okay with eliminations at least part of the way through the 10-race Chase, but I wasn’t sure about the championship coming down to one race. The more I thought about it, though, and after seeing it play out once, it grew on me. Critics of this new Chase, some of those being critics of the Chase through all of it…

  • Mercedes-Benz Unveils New CLA Shooting Brake

    Katie Krol
    25 Nov 2014 | 9:21 am
Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled the all-new CLA Shooting Brake – the wagon version of the CLA-Class sedan. It will be available in standard form and the high-performance CLA45 AMG model. This is because Mercedes considers the CLA-Class as a whole to be a coupe, even though it has four doors. Opting for a shooting brake style will essentially buy you more room. The headroom in the rear is significantly better than in the four-door sedan CLA. The Shooting Brake has over four…
