    For the first time in years the Formula 1 teams will do in-season testing, in Mugello starting tomorrow. Testing had ceased for a while in order to help reduce costs in Formula 1. But now it has returned as it was impossible for teams among other things to try out new drivers.  It will be interesting to watch the testing and think about how despite it not being a race, we will be watching to see who comes out on top as the European season begins again....Read Full Post

    Autosport is reporting that strategy is going to be much more important this year for teams to win races thanks to the wearing out of the tires. Teams have noted also that drivers' observations are going to be much more important in terms of tire wear.  Indeed, with a victory of Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari in the Malaysian Grand Prix, it is clear that not always the fastest car will win, but the driver and his mental approach will no doubt become more important.

The test has usually taken place after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but some teams are planning to test at Silverstone after the British GP, due to logistical problems of getting from the United Arab Emirates to the new United States Grand Prix in Texas. Red Bull and stable-mate Toro Rosso have also state their intension to run in Abu Dhabi.

    NASCAR Sprint Cup. UPDATE Kurt Busch was fined $50,000 by NASCAR on Tuesday for reckless driving on pit road at Darlington and a post-race altercation with Ryan Newman's crew members. Busch was also placed on probation through July 25 for his actions Saturday night, which began when a flat tire caused him to wreck with six laps remaining in the race. He headed to pit road for repairs, and, as he left, he did a burnout through Newman's pit box.

    Johnny Clark overcame mechanical problems and a shot gun starting position to win Saturday night’s Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North 150 at Epping New Hampshire’s Star Speedway. Clark gave race leader Travis Benjamin the bump and run on lap 144 and led the final six laps to capture his first win of the young season. Benjamin settled for second with Quebec racer Martin LaTulippe finished in third. Beech Ridge winner Joey Doiron raced under the checkers fourth and Ben Rowe was fifth.
